Kurt Schwabe Symposium

Croatia, May 27-30, 2019

The organising committee of the 8th Kurt-Schwabe-Symposium has the pleasure to invite you to visit Split, Croatia, May 2019.

The symposium will cover all aspects of electroanalysis and electrochemical sensors. The different topics are addressed by plenary lectures, contributed lectures and posters. The programme will link fundamental and applied aspects providing an inspiring forum to discuss challenges faced by electrochemical analysis and sensors. The lecture hall is equipped with up-to-date technology. Poster session and coffee breaks will take place next to the lecture hall.

The symposium was established in 1993 by Erika Kálmán in memoriam of Kurt Schwabe, a famous German electrochemist and corrosion scientist. Among many other fields of activities he was particularly interested in electrochemical analytics in research area as well as products for customer applications. Consequently, beside his professorship in Dresden and several other academical positions, from 1945 till his death in 1983 Schwabe also acted as director of an own institute with about 230 employees of which more than half were engaged in the production of electroanalytical equipment.

Former venues of Kurt-Schwabe-Symposia have been Tata, Dresden, Zakopane, Helsinki, Erlangen, Krakow and Mittweida. In 2019 the symposium will be held in Split together with the 7th Regional Symposium on Electrochemistry of South-East Europe.
